Business analytics is the application of technology, skills and practices for repetitive analysis of past business records to improve the decision making of an organization. Business analytics focuses on the data to develop a good understanding of the organization and use for future business planning. It includes building predicting models and forming optimization technique and communicating them to customers and business investors. Business analytics uses verified data through statistical methods to value and arrive at decision making.

  • Predictive analytics

  • Prescriptive analytics

  • Decision analytics

Each of this business analytics division focuses on various issues, like supporting the human decision, reporting historical data and employing prediction. All of them lay emphasis on statistical analysis of the organization’s data for accomplishing tasks. The components of business analytics are interchangeable and help in accomplishing targeted tasks.

The business analytics have increased adoption of more open source tools. The tools employed by business analytics serve for different purposes varying from data visualization, BI reporting, self-service analytics, statistical analysis and big data deficiencies. These tools are simple-to-use and do not require any exclusive training to generate results. The querying, reporting, online analytical processing, and alert tools can provide answers to generic questions and are used for fraud detection, forecasting and inventory management, and variety of other applications.

Business analytics can make a company more competitive and successful by determining the best practices and decisions to be undertaken for a particular organization. Thus business analytics has given way to an optimal scenario to improvise.
