Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Google Cloud Platform is a collection of public cloud computing services provided by Google.  GCP offers numerous Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS). All the cloud computing services are run on the same infrastructure that Google uses internally for its end-user products such as Google search and youtube. The platform comprises a range of hosted services for storage, computing and application development that work on the Google hardware. GCP offers services for storage, networking, big data, machine learning, internet of things (IoT), security, developer tools and much more. This platform that provides a suite of services is continuously evolving and apart from that Google occasionally introduces, discontinues, and changes service based on the user's demands.

About the Google Cloud Platform Products

Following are a few major cloud computing products under the Google cloud platform

Google App Engine:

This is a platform as a service (PaaS) offering that delivers customers with the access to Google’s scalable hosting. The users are also allowed to make use of software developer kit (SDK) to develop software products that work on the app engine.

Google Compute Engine:

This is an infrastructure as service (IaaS) offering that provides customers with virtual machine instances for workload hosting.

Google Cloud Storage:

This is cloud storage platform designed to store massive, unstructured data sets. Additionally, Google provides database storage options that include Cloud SQL for MySQL fully relational storage, Google's native Cloud Bigtable database and include Cloud Datastore for NoSQL nonrelational storage.
