Talent Management is the science of using strategic human resource planning to improve business value and to make it possible for companies and organizations to reach their goals. Everything done to recruit, retain, develop, reward and make people perform forms a part of talent management.
The concept is not restricted to ensure that an organization has right candidate with the right skills, in the right numbers and at the right time but it extends to exploring the hidden and unusual qualities of employees and making sure employees are well equipped to get the desired results, which also includes developing and nurturing them.
It is a continuous process that involves sourcing, hiring, developing, retaining and promoting them while meeting the organization’s requirements simultaneously.
For instance, if an organization wants to identify, attract and retain the top talent, it needs to attract them and offer something that is far beyond their imagination to come and join and then stick to the organization.
Only hiring and retaining the best talent does not solve the purpose but getting the work done from them is also important. Therefore, it can be said that talent management is a full-fledged process that not only controls building and sustaining a strong talent pipeline but designing a high-flying leadership training.
